Rainer Awaiting the Ship

Rainer had walked through the town and picked himself up an apple. With a bag containing the payment from his latest solo mission slung over his shoulder, jingling its contents as he walked, he gave his apple a bite. Tossing it in the air as he walked along and chewed. He was finally entering the harbor with the hopes that his guild's ship would make dock there shortly so he didn't have to fly around the sky's in search of it.

Annabelle stood there in front of a small building that seemed familiar to her eyes or one eye. The wind blew her silver hair revealing the eye patch over her right eye. The man behind the counter immediately smiled and handed her a ticket, she had already made arrangements to pick up the ticket so words were unnecessary, and then again she hardly spoke at all. Taking the ticket with her slender hands she would give the man a curt nod and headed towards the docks awaiting her ship.

The dock was unusually crowded today and it was even hard for someone with a small frame like hers to navigate through. After ten minutes pushing her way through the crowd she had bumped into someone who was tossing an apple in the air. “I’m sorry.” She simply said with her usual expressionless face and tone.

Just as he released the Apple Rainer felt himself get bumped. He swiped at the apple but it was just out of reach and didn't feel the need to waist magical energy on bringing it back to his hand, so he watched the apple roll into the water with a depressed look on his face. He gave a close eyed sigh, before turning to the culprit. "It's quite alright, I'm sure you didn't mean-" He said having finally turned to a lady, whose face seemed familiar. "To" He finished his sentence scanning her, and her rapier gave away her identity. Dragonbane, the Rapier belonging to Lady Anna of the Wizard Saints, any swordsman knew it. "Perhaps a representative of the Magic Council such as yourself should put a little more effort into displaying a sincere tone, M'Lady." He said with a sly smirk.

Noticing the man’s pained expression when he dropped the apple made her chuckle, it must have been a damn good apple. Ironically she had picked an apple for herself on her way here. Pushing her slender hand into the pockets of her pull over she would hand over the apple she was walking around with and handed it to the man. “I doubt it’s as good as the one you lost but here”. Facing the man she would notice him staring at her rapier. Unfortunately for her encounters like these were frequent for her as out of all the Wizard Saints she was one who was easily identified due to the blade she wielded, even though she didn’t mind it might become a problem for her in the future.  “Representative of the Magic Council? I maybe a Wizard Saint but please don’t lump me alongside those people. ” She answered in her usual bored tone of voice.

Rainer produced a smile on his face when Anna offered to reimburse him, noticing the apple she drew from her pocket. "Ah I would feel guilty taking it all how about we split it?" He said taking the apple summoning Aurora to his hand for a split second cleaving the apple perfectly down the middle and dismissing his sword in one quick motion. He tossed the other half to Anna and took a bite into his own. He gave her a quizzical look as she disparaged the magical council. "Interesting, and here me and my guild thought all of you were content being tools of the council. Or at the very least got along with them." He expressed, somewhat happy at the revelation. "Beautiful blade by the way, it compliments your hip very well."

What smooth technique, she thought as she watched the man slice apple in the half. She had seen many swordsmen in her travels and he by far had the best technique. She was impressed. Deciding not to object to his offer she caught the apple that was tossed in her direction and sunk her teeth into it. Even though she preferred sweets she enjoyed a fruit every now and again. Upon hearing his words about the relationship about the Saints and the Council she couldn’t help but chuckle once more. “Judging by your words I guess you’re a member of the Fallen King Guild. I haven’t seen a member of the Guild in awhile, I thought the council finally wiped you lot out.” She said plainly opting not to reply to his last statement.

"An astute observation, though that is correct, there are many outside of our guild who aren't fooled by the Council's tactics." He said giving her a thumbs up as he savored the apple some more. "Some would say all the Council succeeded in doing to our guild was a simple culling of the herd. Making us stronger and better equipped to tackle them, barring any interference from you and your Saint comrades of course." He replied to her statement, giving her power the respect it desereved. He glanced at the sky for a second then brought his gaze down across the sea.....no sign of his guilds ship yet. "So what is it you are doing in Hargeon Town Miss?" He wondered what business a Wizard Saint would have here, perhaps the Council had sent her for something. "Just a seaside walk hoping to find a suitor to rebuild the Einzbern clan with?" He joked finally finishing the apple.

“Well I shouldn’t have been surprised some of you survived the massacre. The council has a history of hiring incompetent fools that rarely get anything done. Such a shame really.” She said coldly popping the last piece of apple into her mouth. Her blue hues looked into the horizon where a ship was heading towards the dock, unfortunately for her it wasn’t her ship. Why she constantly relies on that sad excuse for a captain was beyond her, he’s never on time and has bad manners, but what else could she expect from a criminal. “If I was looking for a man, this would be the last place I would come. Most men are intimidated by who I am anyways. I’m just here to gather information on a certain guild and as usual my snitch is late.” Rubbing her temple with her left hand she tried to calm herself down. She hated working with incompetent people.

"Incompetent is one way to describe them I suppose." Rainer chimed in, watching her look out for a ship. "Perhaps your snitch ran into some trouble, perhaps the information you were going to get made its way to the guild masters ear and he got the 'stitches' end of the old motto, Snitches get stitches." He said not appreciating he used such a un-noble saying. "Yes, Hargeon Harbor is not really a bastion for attractive and strong minded men. You can't blame them for being intimidated by you, a women of your stature and unsavory disposition. It takes either a stupid or strong willed man to approach you." He said while she rubbed her temples. "But it is nothing to get worked up about I'm sure you'll find someone eventually if you learn to loosen up." Rainer agained scanned for his own ship. "Not that I care, as long as you are unhappy you are not as sharp a tool as you could be for the Council." He quickly followed the statement with.

A soft sigh escaped her lips as she continued looking out for the ship. She knew better than anyone that Jacques would get killed, after all he was like a cockroach no matter how many times you step on the bugger he just brushes it off. That’s what made her decide to use him, despite his mannerisms he got things done. Annabelle stood there impatiently as the man continued to ramble on about the men in the town and her stature. But he got it all wrong, they men weren’t intimidated by the fact that she was a Wizard Saint, most of the time they didn’t know who she was, they hesitate because she was branded as unapproachable. But house with a picket fence in the suburbs wasn’t something she was seeking at this current moment in time so she was alright with being branded as such. “It seems you’re not a very good listener, I thought I told you not to group me with the council.” She said glaring at the man.

Rainer smirked again. "I'm an impeccable listener, I just wanted to get an emotion out of you. The entire conversation you have been monotone until just now when I detected a hint of anger. I thought you a robot for a second." Rainer joked. "My father once told me that many swordsman fall prey to the thinking of no emotion is the best way to fight. When the opposite is true. There are those that fight to protect, who use fear and love to sharpen their blades. Others seek the thrill of battle, they cannot truly live until they are so close to death, using that shiver of excitement down there spine to make each step and each slash a little cleaner." He said waxing poetic as he sat down with his ship nowhere in sight still. "I just wanted to make sure such a beautiful sword wasn't wasted on an emotionless being. I'm reassured its in good hands though."

Hearing the man’s rather dramatic explanation for pissing her off Annabelle would scoff and rolled her eyes. In fact he just pissed her off further with his little monologue which she stopped listening when started speaking about why swordsmen fight. With a scowl very much visible on her face she silently hoped Jacques get off his ass and come pick her up. Sticking her hand into her pockets she would pull out a piece of chewing gum and popped it into her mouth, flicking the wrapper onto someone passing by.

"Mmmm" Rainer said staring at her pensively. "You really have a stick up your butt huh?" He said turning his attention to the sea. He had heard from Soumei that Wizard Saints weren't usually friendly, maybe reaching that level of magic made you jaded, he hoped not though. He used his magic to catch the gum wrapper and navigate it to a bin. "I'm sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way, although it seems impossible to rub you any other way but the wrong one." He found it weird she had been raised in a noble family but owned this attitude. Such a thing would've gotten you punished harshly in the Masters family.

The very large magical ship sail through the waters of the harbor. Sailing slowly it slowly came up to the dock where Rainer waited. Inside of the ship was Soumei and the rest of the members of a powerful wanted Guild. Sitting there they we're getting ready to set out for a mission that is if Rainer would hurry and come on their ship. "Prepare the transporter" Soumei spoke out. Sitting in the middle of the ship in a very large chair, the crew prepared to transport Rainer onto their ship so they could set off. The reason for these is they had no doors to get onto their ship.

"Welp" Rainer said raising up to his feet and looking at Anna. "I would say it was a pleasure, but you aren't the best conversationalist." He joked. "I'm sure we'll meet again someday, our swords will cross eachother." He shook with excitment. He jumped at the ship as the transporter began to take him into the ship. Once inside he turned to Soumei. "Thanks Sir, now I know why you all dislike the Council Members and their Saints."

Soumei looked at Rainer and smile. "At least now you understand." Soumei simply said laying back they had a long way to go. "Take flight we're leaving!" With that order, with those words in such a loud tone the massive warship took off. The massive warship known as Fallen Angel floated up into the sky and took off with a loud boom shooting off into the skies. The magic circle under the ship, the magic circles behind it the ship itself was powered by every person at their stations, working, pouring magic into the ship itself was amazing. Every time they went flying it made Soumei smile he love being able to fly.

Rainer was always amazed by the process this ship took to fly, with everyone using their magic to power it. He took his seat on the deck and looked through some papers on his desk. "Any suggestions on my next Job sir?" He asked Soumei wondering if there were any special jobs out there.

"Yes you're going with Kyon to pay Shadow Wolves a visit." Soumei was now going to make somewhat of a statement with just two of his members. "Or would you rather go with Sai and Lori to meet our friends at Genesis?" Now he was asking Rainer which one he wanted to do. Either way it would be fine with him and either way it would be a good learning experience for Rainer. To go out, to do battle, to see things that he normally wouldn't see and to go into battle for once.

"Can't let Kyon go alone" Rainer said excitedly putting the papers back down on the desk, almost giddy with excitement at the sound of these missions. "Besides who wants to 3rd wheel with the lovers team?" He continued rhetorically. Getting up from his seat turning to his Guild Master. "Where is Kyon now?"

"Already in Shiro waiting on you it seems now" Soumei said crossing one leg over the other as he waited. The ship seem to be moving faster then before they would have to let Rainer off now. "Get ready to leave Rainer" Soumei simply told his young guild wizard. Kyon would fill Rainer in on all of the details for his mission.

"Very Good" Rainer said walking over to his desk taking a few coins from the job he had just finished and put them on his pocket then pressed the button activating the transporter. He gave Soumei a nod and smile of excitement before stepping on the transporter "Here is fine, I'll fly the rest of the way. That way the Shadow Wolves don't smell anything fishy with our ship in sight." The transporter fired up and spit Rainer outside of the ship whom used Reges magic to levitate himself and take off in Kyon's direction with a sonic boom, with a grin painted on his face.
