Absent minded (Open)

Shadou let out a close mouth chuckle at her tone "At a walking pace it is unlikely." He answered her question "It's quite a ways, which is why I will have to teach you a magic that helps you fly so that you can find others, when I inevitably bore you" He said truthfully. In the distance with his dragon slayer enhanced ears he could hear a stream trickling. "Does the canteen need refilling?"

He nodded in response to her sterilizing comment and pointed to where he knew the stream was. He started to walk that way when she asked about his Tartarus ties, he slowed his pace to a somber stumble. "I uh...." He searched for the way to say it kindly but there wasn't a way "was an experiment. My mother died when they were turning her into a demon from Zeref's book. I was in the womb, and luckily or unluckily for me depending on how you look at it, they got me out and I was picked to be there next project. I can't remember what happend while I was in the tube, I may be half demon but I was born human, and escaped before I could become what they wanted." He said not looking at her as he talked. "Although I'm still some kind of monster."

He smiled at her kind words and shook his head "No not really, just wandering where you were going with this little run. The stream is that way" He said pointing a little to the east leading her over there. "Oh I guess I do have one question, any weird night time rituals I should know about? Or morning rituals for that matter?"

Shadou was looking at her when he talked "Rise with the sun? I see so you are not a night owl?" He said somewhat worried "I hope I am quiet enough that you get sleep and can rise with the sun, I usually settle down around that time." He admitted before stepping in the creek without looking. "Oops" He said taking a step back.

"Indeed darkness is scary, and brings with it a certain feeling of fear." Shadou said looking up at the sky "But that is what makes the stars so beautiful. Light in the darkness, constantly fighting what looks like a losing battle but an un-extenguishable ray of hope." Shadou said shaking his head. "Got philosophical there for a second heh." He laughed turning on his heel as she filled the canteen. "To the casa!"

"You're no stranger to travel I see" Shadou said noticing her adjust her bag "You have just what you need, and not much more." He said walking back out of the forest again on the way home. "Not use to having an established home? I remember you telling me about your mercenary days but no homebase between missions?"

"Good, glad I can provide some stability" Shadou said remembering his travels after getting out from under Tartarus thumb "It does the soul good" He said walking on, tightening his cloak as the temperature began to drop. "It's gonna get a little chilly now"

"The home itself resides in a basin, with a little river flowing through the living room" Shadou answered "So since it's in the basin the wind is all around the house, luckily, leaving the house relatively warm. Plus I have created a efficient heating system." He said rather proudly "But this area right here, the wind gets rather harsh and during the winter the snow will get quite high."

"That's usually what I keep up" Shadou admitted "To be honest, I have a Lachrima mechanism in the top floor of my house that influences the season. I found that cold weather helps keep me isolated and interferes with those who have abilities to find mages, ability to sense me." He said "But put a fire Lachrima in the apparatus and we are living in summer. I have no preference, I'm often oblivious to the temperature, get wrapped up in my experiments."

"Why do you ask? You just said moments ago the cold did not bother you?" Shadou asked, beginning to kick a loose rock on the road with his foot as he walked down the path.

"Sleep first and foremost" Shadou said answering about her duties "It will be night fall again, and your body will need to get used to the amount of Eterano flow there is around the house. I have multiple experiments going at once and as such it is not an easy enviroment to get used to. Luckily while you sleep your body will get used to the effects and you'll be stronger for it." He explained. "I will shut down these experiments when your sister comes to visit however, and perhaps help fine tune her magic to make her physical body stronger." He said interested in her sisters magic "You said it makes her 'physical body' weak, does that mean her magic employs some sort of spiritual body?" He asked before shaking his hands in a worried manner "I don't mean to pry"

• My sister take of the form of an Ethereal Being allowing her to pass through this plane and into another it use to happen by accident but now she seems to have full control. Half of the reason her body is weak is because she doesn’t move or eat when she is in this Form which make her extremely weak when she returns.

"Ah" Shadou said his scientific mind kicking into high gear "That's easily remedied, in more ways then one. However" He said rubbing his chin "What an interesting magic, why would something like this be created when it seems to hold to combative value. Her physical body is left motionless making her easily killable. Perhaps while on the etheral plane she can interfere with living humans spirits as well, or one day perhaps summon dead spirits to her aid. Yes, yes, that seems more likely. Controlling the boundary between the plans is likely the ultimate form of the magic not just conversing with spirits. I should hope Tartarus or any dark guild for that matter doesn't find out about this ability, otherwise they would bring back all manner of villains." He said writing all this down feverously in his hand notebook oblivious to how Tida was reacting to his rant.
