Appearance: Astro has average height and weight for a teenager of his age and activity level. He has shoulder length blonde hair and deep green eyes that seem to sparkle, always accompanied with a smile on his face. He has a slim but extremely toned and athletic build, with unassuming strength hidden in it. He is usually seen wearing an all black wardrobe with red trim, accompanied by a white battle robe and battle boots with metal knee pads placed on them to give his knee's protection and extra pop when incorporated into his techniques.

Personality: Kaylen is cheerful, warm, and extremely energetic. He is very helpful and kind, always willing to go that extra mile for his friends. He has a special ability to find the fun part in everything he is doing and brightens up most peoples day. He possesses an insatiable apitite for adventure and mischief, always keen to learn something new or find out the mystery behind something. This curiosity is driven by his genius level intelligence. He enjoys conversation and spending time with his guild mates or hearing any information about his adoptive mother of whom he is very proud. Because he is so warm and loyal he does not take kindly to those who harm the ones he cares about and will turn ruthless and passionate in the heat of combat. Kaylen will try not kill dark mages, but is not against doing so if he sees they cannot reform, usually finishing his opponent with tears in his eyes, as if he failed them personally. Strength:
Senses and Physical Attributes- After being taken in by his adoptive mother he spent much of his formative years in the forest, learning to survive off the land and hunt. This developed his senses beyond normal human levels, that was before he got the upgrade that accompanies slayer magic that even further enhanced them. Having been a farm boy in his youth and then a skilled hunter his body has adapted to a rough lifestyle by building itself into a powerhouse. The years of plowing the fields have given his arms a toned strength and running down beasts through trees became routine for him, easily avoiding unexpected limbs and traps in his pursuit of beasts in the forest.

Untapped Potential- Despite being A rank, Astro has just now begun to scratch the surface of his immense potential as a mage. His young body houses an amazing amount of magic energy that he doesn't yet know how to access as his magic allows itself to feed off of things in the atmosphere. Outside of the stances and techniques taught to him as a Slayer, he knows no formal martial arts but has held his own against skilled martial arts mages on a few of his missions, showing a hidden talent for it. He also has an immense intellect, deciphring how magics work and figuring out 1000 piece puzzles for fun. This intelligence allows him to catch an opponent off guard when combined with his creativity, creating new techniques to combat a problem he has run into against an enemy on the fly in the heat of battle.

Weaknesses:
Raw- Of course his potential is still just that, potential. He is unfamiliar with many martial art techniques and complicated magics that take years to learn like Seals and Runes. He doesn't have much experience against weapon wielding mages, and while adept at using a sword he cannot hold his own very easily against mages who employ different kinds of weaponary. He is also extremely naive, seeing the good in people to a fault which leaves him vulnerable to those who are ruthless enough to take advantage of his warm heart.

MAGIC AND ABILITIES

Name Magic: Nova Phoenix Slayer

Magic:
Nova Phoenix Slaying Magic- Kaylen has the ability to wield the power of the stars in his magic, all manner of stars from Supernova's or Pulsars, to the remnants of a dead star like Dark Stars aka Black Holes. He can generate heat far greater than many earth bound fire creatures wield, and can use other elements associated with stars such as plasma, liquid metal(behaves much like magma), the different gasses used in burning stars and the massive amounts of light stars generate. He has mastered the magic to a level of being able to use different manner of stars to different effects, for example Red Stars are explosive, destructive, and hot. On the other hand Blue Stars are calming, sharp, and coldly precise. Because of his Phoenix slaying abilities he can hear, see, smell, and taste better than a normal human, and he heals faster than any being without the aid of magic. Although he has not yet attained Phoenix Force, he has created techniques like Star Drive to augment his abilities to new levels while he trains to attain the highest level form of his magic.

BACKGROUND

History:

Early Childhood:
Kaylen was born in a small farm land outside of Fiore. He loved playing outside and taking in the suns rays, and even loved to play during the night much to his parents dismay, just so he could run under the stars and be in nature. Because of his unrivaled energy and enthusiasm for life, and his ability to see the good nature in everyone made his parents tell people he was born with the fire of life inside him. He lived the first 6 years with his parents, learning to appreciate and work the land as well as do the finer things like sculpt which is what his mother used to do. It was only to humor his parents though as his real passion was to explore.

Meeting Stella:
One day he did just that, taking off to find out what was in a cave nearby a waterfall close to their home. Whilst playing in the waters, a group of bandits stumbled upon the land mark, using it to replenish their water source before moving onto his village. Kaylen quickly hid behind the waterfall unnoticed and heard the plans to rob and kill those within his home town. Safely waiting until they took off he bolted back to his village through the forest using a shortcut to hopefully arrive before the bandits, but he was too late. He got there just as the bandit slayed his family whose home was the first within the village, using Phoenix Slaying Magic to blow it over. At that exact moment Stella, the Phoenix of the Stars arrived to fend off the bandits, as the magic the head bandit was using was that of her Phoenix rival, Gravitas. Successfully chasing off the bandits, she felt responsible for the now orphaned Kaylen and took him under her wing.

Learning the Stars:
Stella quickly became a second mom to Kaylen, teaching him every life lesson he would need to know. She taught him the importance of death and rebirth, a staple in her kinds lifestyle. Passing on the philosophy that death although a sad part of life is a great gift. She taught him the basics of human kind so he could converse with his own kind. Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, all were taught to Kaylen with a greater explanation then any school in Fiore could have given him from Stella's millenia's of experience. On his 10th birthday she began to teach him Slayer Magic, harnessing the power of the stars to protect himself and more importantly others. His power grew steadily over the next 4 years until one day Stella had left a message and returned to the Stars, to take on her rival again, vowing to check in on her son when she could.

Joining Cardinal Phoenix:
Without a mother and no place to stay, Kaylen took his magic talents on the road, taking odd jobs here and there to survive. His reputation grew and his skill with his magic did as well, eventually to the point where some guilds would inquire about his services. On missions he realized the joy and passion he had in magic and quickly adopted the dream of becoming a Guild Member, perhaps a Guild Master one day to protect and teach others with and of magic. Weighing his options he chose the obvious Cardinal Phoenix not just for their name but because of their promise to turn him into a mage that would be strong enough to sheppard in the next generation after his. He joined up and his talent shot him up through the ranks quickly, within a year reaching A rank. He settled into this rank taking on missions for the next year or so before the guild let him take on a special A rank mission that was classified as a 5 year mission. Seeing it as his opportunity to reach S rank and start learning new magics to expand his repitoire, he took it with no questions asked. He has now returned in 6 months, ready for whatever is next.
