Victor Rockheart

Victor grew up in Shirotsune. His family were exiled from most of the world, so they lived in a small cabin on the mountain. The reason for their exile was because of Victor's fathers status as a Mystic Swordsman. The Mystic Swordsmen were feared warriors from an age where Mages were the ones to be feared. The Swordsmen were soldiers, used by the government to fight off the impending threat of mages who used Black Magic. There were many Swordsmen at that time, however after the Black Magic was sealed away by the government, and magic was given to the public the Mystic Swordsmen became unneeded, and so they were disbanded. Some kept their swords, and their status and because of this they were punished by the government that created them. Forced to live in exile in all corners of the world. For centuries they lived and passed on their knowledge and skill to the next generation, managing to survive the test of time while at the same time disappearing from the history books.

Victor, and his father were the last of the Mystic Swordsmen. Their existence was unknown to the rest of the world, and that's just how Victors father wanted it. An old forgotten decree was still in place, stating that all mystic swordsmen are to be either stripped of their weapons or killed. However for a swordsman to give up his sword is a worst fate than death, so they chose exile. Victor didn't understand any of this at the time. He had dreams of becoming a great mage, slaying monsters and getting the girls. His father obviously scolded him for thinking that way.

On his sixteenth birthday, Victors father gave him his first real sword. Victors heart was filled with glee, having only ever been allowed to practice with a wooden one. For the first time ever, he sparred on equal ground with his father. It was a rite of passage for Mystic Swordsmen to challenge their superiors as a display of courage. He learned well and almost defeated his father, however he simply had more experience than Victor which resulted in his defeat. Victor was finally ready! Against his fathers wishes, he left his home and entered the world of Mages. To his surprise it was a fairly difficult life. He expected something more... magical.

Turns out that most of the world had forgotten about the mystic swordsmen, although there were a few mages with similar magics. He believed his sword magic to be the greatest. In just a couple short years he made a name for himself by taking mercenary jobs hunting down rabid beasts, and the occasional Dark Wizard. Out of all the missions hes ever faced, and ever will face one impacted his life the most. Around his nineteenth birthday, a Grey Dragon was spotted near Shirotsune. Many people reported missing livestock, or destroyed homes as a result of the dragon nesting in the mountain. So of course Victor was going to test his might against that of a Dragon! "The greatest test for any swordsman is to fight a being that is greater than themselves." An old proverb among swordsmen. He never imagined that he'd come out of this battle victorious, however he wanted to test himself. Victor rushed to Shirotsune to accept the mission, however he found something he did not expect.

Upon arriving at Shirotsune, he quickly made his way to the mountain base. There, to his surprise he found his mother at the shore of a river, bloodied and broken. He learned that his father had tried to defend their home from the Dragon, resulting in the loss of his life. His mother had narrowly escaped by diving in to the river by their now destroyed cabin. She died, despite Victor's efforts to try and save her. In his rage he climbed to the mountain summit and found the dragons nest!

He faced the Dragon, and fought it bravely, however it seemed far too powerful for any man to face. Victor wouldn't give up. He would avenge his parents or die in the process! The fight lasted for several hours. The Dragon would breath its fire, and Victor would wave it away with sword swings so powerful they created strong air currents. This however was the result of him using the Grip ability on the air around him. The Dragon would lash out with its talons, and Victor would parry them with his sword. The Dragon would swings its massive tail at him, and Victor would dodge it. It would attempt to bite him, and Victor would cut out its teeth! The two seemed to be evenly matched, until Victor made one false move and allowed the Dragon to bite off his left arm.

The blood loss from this wound was tremendous and it looked as if Victor was going to loose, until he allowed the dragon to swallow him whole! From inside the Dragon he hacked and he slashed his way down the dragons throat. The Dragon hoped to end this by breathing its great fire! However Victor counted on that. By using the guard ability, he managed to prevent the flame from leaving the dragons throat, causing the pressure to rise inside of it and soon cause the Dragon's throat to explode open, severing its head!

Victor treated his wound and made his way back down the mountain, carrying one of the Dragon's massive fangs as proof of his victory. He earned the title of Dragon Slayer among the people. However this name quickly changed to Slayer as a result of the number of actual Dragon Slayers rising dramatically. Just a way to avoid confusion... To this day, The Slayer is revered across the land as the one who slew the Dragon. The only non-Dragon Slayer in history to have ever slayed a Dragon!
